Black mustard seeds, the backbone of the flavors of many an Indian dishes. Its a sound you hear in almost all house holds in India as they hit hot oil and dance about.

Wilting but Proud
These flowers are past their heyday and yet seem so vibrant and full of color. With sunlight coming through the thin fragile petals make for a better backdrop than many robust flowers.
An English Coffee Shop
The Windsor Castle coffee shop makes for an excellent ambiance don’t you think? I could spend quite a few afternoons here with interesting faces passing by making for potential characters in a story. If only the rates were affordable at such places.
Rice is not White
The rice we eat is often not white, a creamy off white at the most. When I was a kid I remember my grandmother fussing over the overly polished white rice and how bad it was for me. Polished rice is further artificially enriched with nutrients. Doing this is mandated by law in the USA.
St Mary’s Church Oxford
The first building of the Oxford university was this church. Its used now for lectures and for awarding degrees. There has been a church at the spot for about a 1000 years! The tower seen here has been around since 1250 and the gargoyles and decorated spire added in the 1320’s.
Ornately Oriental
This rose has its petals fluffed in such a way that it almost looks like something you’d make in an advanced origami course.
When the clouds are Dark
When you shoot buildings and landscape shots there is often a loss of detail in half of the image, generally the upper half. The sky is often overexposed and regrettably so for what makes you take an image is often the background along with the main subject. The solution could be a Filter, but in this day and age a digital solution like Photoshop / Gimp. I used Gimp to reclaim what seems lost in the cloud. The image could have been better finished but 10 minutes gets you this.
Stay Calm and Eat
Dal Bafle, Kuchumber, Green Mint chutney, lemon pickle, besan ladoo, peas & cauliflower vegetable, Methi with Garlic and Khadi mirch , papad and Matha to wash it all down. Heaven is where the good lunch is.
The Tug of Gourd
A sponge gourd vine hangs on to a thread from which shall hang great oblong vegetables. The coils of nature are so beautiful.
The Squatting Dragon
Well to be fair, its probably a character ( most likely Garuda) out of Hindu Mythology represented in a Cambodian / Thai statue. Taken with a 8MP Sony Xperia Pro Mobile Phone
